Prof Suleiman Elias BogoroExecutive Secretary, TETFUND

A graduate of B.Sc. Agriculture (1981) from the University of Maiduguri, he bagged his M.Sc. Animal Science from ABU, Zaria (1988) and Ph.D. Animal Science from ATBU (1997), with composite research and bench-work, equally shared between ATBU, The Rowett Research Institute, Aberdeen, Scotland and The Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. He commenced his academic career at the Federal University of Technology, renamed Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi as a pioneer Graduate Assistant in the School (Faculty) of Agriculture in 1984 where he rose to Professor of Animal Science (specializing in Biochemistry and Ruminant Nutrition) in 2003. Professor Bogoro is a prolific researcher with numerous publications in international and local journals. Prof. Bogoro has taught, supervised and mentored several postgraduate students at M.Sc and PhD levels with 14 of them that are Professors now. He has delivered numerous high profile public lectures in excess of 70 in very diverse areas of development challenge and policy.

Prof. Bogoro currently serves as the Executive Secretary (ES) of TETFUND and has recently been nicknamed Apostle of R & D is one of the loudest voices canvassing for the establishment of a National R & D Foundation that will become the common platform for Researchers and the Industry/Private sector, consistent with the demands of contemporary Knowledge Economy which is more futuristic than our present exhaustible resource and commodity-based Economy.

Prof Chinwe AnunobiNational Librarian/Chief Executive Officer, National Library of Nigeria

Professor Chinwe Veronica Anunobi is a Professor of Library and Information Science and the current National Librarian/Chief Executive Officer of National Library of Nigeria and the immediate past University Librarian, Federal University of Technology Owerri, Nigeria. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education Biology from University of Nigeria Nsukka, Masters in Library Science from the Imo State University Owerri and Doctor of Philosophy, Library and Information Science from the University of Nigeria Nsukka.

Chinwe started her career as Library and Information Science practitioner at the Federal University of Technology Owerri, Nigeria where she pioneered the establishment of ICT unit, Electronic Thesis & Dissertation and the automation of the University Library. She also pioneered the establishment and development of Digital library as a Digital librarian of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Nigeria. Iryna KuchmaOpen Access Program Manager, EIFL

Iryna Kuchma is the EIFL Open Access Programme Manager. Working in collaboration with libraries and library consortia in more than 50 countries in Africa, Asia and Europe, she advocates for open access to research results, facilitates the development and implementation of open science policies and infrastructures, and provides support and training. Iryna also coordinates the OpenAIRE Community of Practice for Training Coordinators and is a chairperson of the OpenAIRE Training and Support Standing Committee.

She sits on the boards of directors of the Global Sustainability Coalition for Open Science Services (SCOSS) and the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD). She serves on the UNESCO Open Science Advisory Committee as an international expert. In addition, she serves on the advisory boards of the Community-led Open Publication Infrastructures Project (COPIM); the Open Access 2020 Initiative (OA2020), and Open Access Week. Iryna is a member of the Coalition Publi.ca International Committee, and of the DSpace Community Advisory Team.

He is serving on the National Research & Development Foundation Executive Bill drafting committee among other national assignments. MAP is the Convener of Business to Business (B2B) Nigeria with membership across 5 continents, leveraging the innovative continuous and lifelong business education platform provided by B2B Nigeria through her monthly business priming, pitching and networking session.

Mario RealeSenior Research Engagement and Support Officer, GÉANT

He graduated in High Energy Physics in 1992 from the Second University of Rome, Tor Vergata. He holds a Ph.D. in High Energy Physics from the University of Wuppertal, Germany (1997).

He participated in the first large international projects on Grids ( DataGrid, EGEE, EGI – 2001-2010), including EU-Mediterranean collaboration projects, like EUMEDGRID-Support (2010-2012). He joined the Italian Research and Education Network (GARR) in 2006, where he has been working on the IPv6 compliance of Grid Middleware and the activities of the GN4-1, GN4-2, GN4-3 GEANT Projects.

In 2011 he has been actively involved in the EU-Latin America collaboration project ELCIRA, aimed at supporting Identity Federations, Cloud Services and advanced networking services in South America. He has been the Network Support coordinator for EGI (2010-2012). He subsequently joined the GARR Cloud activities (2014-2018), dealing with the automation of the deployment of OpenStack clusters in Italy. He joined the activities of IDEM, the Italian Identity Federations in 2018-2019.

Since July 2019 he is in Amsterdam, working at the GEANT Association, in the Research Engagement and Support team, and contributing to the development activities of eduTEAMS, a community-oriented AAI solution for Research Collaborations.

Two main areas of interest are IT-enabled distributed collaborative work/digital collaboration and investigating the relationship between ICTs and societal change/development outcomes, mainly in Global South contexts. Her most recently funded project investigates Higher Education information professionals in African Higher Education Institutions and their institutional support for delivering an open science agenda.

Previously, she has been a co-investigator on two Horizon 2020 EU projects both undertaken in Africa about African e-Infrastructure development and advocacy of national research and education networks in Africa. She also has a research interest in critical views on open scholarship in Africa which has been supported by UK GCRF funding.

Owen Iyoha is the CEO of the Eko-Konnect Research and Education Initiative where he has worked since inception in 2009. He oversees infrastructure development, capacity building and advocacy with the goal of developing all aspects of research and education network and its community in Nigeria.

Owen has over 25 years of experience of ICT experience.
